Next steps

Well now that we are off the bottle completely, Ella is showing even more independence and interest in using a spoon to feed herself. Whenever we feed her something using a spoon she likes to grab it away from us. Now she has done this for awhile. What is new is that she actually tries to put the spoon in the food and put the spoon in her mouth. Quite the mess is made, but it sure is adorable! It just may be time to get more dishes and utensils to replace the space in the cabinet from the bottles being packed up!

Something else she is getting better at is dressing. Right now she is taking turns putting my winter hat on herself, on me and on Duke and Jersee. She is really too funny! She has got taking them off down pat, for awhile now, but putting things on seems to interest her more now. She will take off her shoes and then try to put them back on. When I start to put on her socks she will put out each foot for me. Then when I go to put on her pants, she will stick out each leg. Getting her shirt on is a breeze now that she will really put her own arm in the holes. She will even pull the shirt sleeve down off her hand and look at her hand like it is amazing she found it again! When we put her pj's on, she will take her shirt off if we help first by getting her arms out. We have spent the last hour putting on daddy's Colt's hat and my winter hat.

Probably one of the funniest things I saw was her doing this at my parent's house. The yogurt cup was empty so she stuck out her tongue and tried to lick the inside! How do they know to do that? Amazing, at least to me it is!

My new favorite thing she has done that past week or two is give kisses and big hugs! When we sit down with our arms outstretched she will run and wrap her arms around your neck. The best is when she  pats your back too. If you ask for a kiss she will do one of two things. First she will lean towards you and show you where to kiss her or she will give you one of those perfect open mouth, slobbery, wet kisses that only a baby can give you. More and more expressive she is!
