Whiskey Lullaby

So we finally caved, gave in, couldn't take the sound of Ella in agony anymore! She is cutting 4 molars right now. 2 on each side and for the past 3 nights has been up in complete pain. The cry is different this time. You can really tell she is hurting, and for a mommy and daddy that is no fun at all. We can't stand to hear our daughter so sad. So last night, after the tylenol had worn off and obviously wasn't helping we resorted to old tradition. We opened up a bottle of Jim Beam dabbed a smidgen on a pinky and rubbed it on her gums. She just sat there as James rubbed the tops of each gum like she was saying thank you Daddy. Then we let her lay with us for awhile in bed which made her very happy. She was so funny changing positions. It is crazy how this little 31 inches of body can take up the entire queen size bed. She would go from laying horizontal across our pillows to on my stomach, to feet in our face and upside down. The funniest part was when she kept burrowing her forehead into my face. I of course could not help but laugh because it was hilarious, but James wanted me to ignore her so she would settle down and fall asleep. Then he said "I think she is drunk" to which we both laughed out loud. Of course she was not, she did not even have one drop but she was acting very silly. Poor girl. Finally she fell asleep and slept until a little before 4am then was up again at 5:30. Makes for very sleepy days for all of us!
