Putting up her first ornament
Ella's first Christmas was a busy one. A few days before we listened to Christmas carols and decorated the tree. Ella was the one to put on the very first ornament. She did it asleep even!
On Christmas Eve we went to my Grammie Betty's house. Ella was passed around from cousin to cousin, aunt to aunt, and the uncles just stood back out of the way! She stayed asleep for the majority of the time we were there. My cousins all loved to hold her and James and I barely held her at all. My aunt Beth held her all during dinner too. At one point, my mom came to hold her and I had to say hold on because I had just gotten her! There is definitely no shortage of love in our family. Especially for a new little baby.
Later we went to James' family's house. Ella woke up a little more then. Again she was passed around from aunt to uncle to cousin. Mamaw aka Helicopter grandma even shared a little!
Christmas day we awoke around 8:30. Ella slept through opening all her presents and her stocking. She hid a special gift from her and Daddy on the tree. A diamond ring to celebrate her birth. We got Ella a bracelet with her name engraved on it, a charm bracelet with a snowflake charm, a couple playmats and several toys.
Around 10 we went to my parents house for Christmas breakfast and opening presents. She got so many gifts from her Nonnie and Auntie Erin it was ridiculous. Erin actually said at one point she didn't realize how much she had bought her until she brought it all over! She got books and toys and clothes.
Next we went to my Grammie Carole's house for lunch. Again Ella was passed around and enjoyed by all. My grammie was worried that she didn't cry. She is such a happy baby though. She loved laying on her new playmat and listening to the music play. We spent great time with everyone except for the Cleveland crew who came to visit us on Thanksgiving.
Finally we ended up at James' parent's house again for dinner. What a long day! Full of family, fun and lots of love.
